Wimbledon using its 25 years of vast experience in conjunction with the world's leading supplier of synthetic yarns and raw materials and RLA Polymer has developed for the world's latest synthetic grass international hockey field

 

Today all major international hockey is played on a synthetic grass surface many of which were designed over 10 years ago.

Wimbledon decided to introduce the very latest technology in developing an official FIH approved hockey field, for the next generation and as a result is proud to offer Wimbledon International Hockey Grass.

Wimbledon International Hockey Grass is a 12mm knit de knit (KDK) twisted nondirectional polypropylene grass made with a special water resistant latex backing,

The grass was thoroughly tested in the official FIH approved laboratory and found to exceed all FIH requirements.

Warranties
Subject to clarification of the proposed use. Wimbledon can provide a limited warranty including a five year warranty against UV degredation.

Pitch Layout

Wimbledon's modular system of inbuilt lines ensures that fewer cuts and joins are used in the main playing areas. 75mm lines are all factory tufted into the carpet to minimize any risk of seam breakdown. You will note from the diagram, how rolls are laid out within the play area but aligned along the baseline and sidelines around the perimeter.

Technical Details

Fully Certified and approved by the Federation International De Hockey

 

Outside dimensions of Hockey lines are 91.44m long x 55.00 wide.

Hockey lines are 75mm wide and usually white.

Hockey tournament grass is usually short pile 'wet field' where the field is irrigated to provide lower friction, lower ball bounce and in hot countries, cooler playing conditions.

Sand filled turf with a shockpad is an acceptable surface for hockey multisports surfaces for club and schools.
